To appreciate the history and culture of Valencia, visit the Plazas of Valencia - many filled with wonderful architecure,   street cafés and restaurants, and surrounded by orange trees.

The following Plazas are worth a visit:

- Plaza del Ayuntamiento - the main square in the heart of Valencia

- Plaza de la Reina ‘Queen’s Square’ - the location of Valencia's Cathedral in the Old Town

- Plaza de la Virgen - an old square dating back to Roman times, surrounded by 3 of the city's wonderful landmark buildings

- Plaza Redonda - an unusual round square built in the 19th century

- Plaza Lope de Vega

- Plaza del Colegio del Patriarcha - a beautiful old square in the heart of the Old Town

Our tip: Visit restaurants and cafes in the streets surrounding the plazas to enjoy food & drink at cheaper prices by comparison to eating in the main squares.

The Central Market

The Central Market is a complete paradise for food lovers!

Located in the historical market building, the market has over 1200 stalls in multiple sections, all dedicated to different types of quality fresh produce.

The Central Market is an essential place to visit on a day trip to Valencia, and the largest market for fresh food in Europe.


Valencia Cathedral

The Valencia Cathedral is a gothic-style building in the Old City area of Valencia. Built on an ancient Roman Temple, the Cathedral dates back to the 13th-15th century.

Famous as the location of the Holy Chalice, the Cathedral offers both history and art, and is the location for many historic pieces of art from the first Spanish Renaissance.

The Cathedral Museum also offers an important collection of art, including pieces from Maella and Goya.

A climb to the top of the Miguelete tower will reward you with wonderful panoramic views of the city.
